LEED Information

The Jack London Market building was constructed using green building methods to produce a healthy, energy efficient and ecologically responsible work environment. The Market, built on a foundation of sustainability, is a certified LEED Silver building.

The interiors of the Jack London Market building adhere to rigorous sustainability guidelines by incorporating over 50% Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood and materials with high recycled content. High performance windows reduce energy use while maintaining natural light and views. Low flow and ultra low flow fixtures have been installed which reduce expected water usage by 40%.

Indoor air quality is preserved by the elimination of formaldehyde containing materials and the use of low VOC paints, coatings, adhesives and sealants in the building.  These inherent design features, coupled with on-going green janitorial practices, contribute to a significantly enhanced interior environment.
