Jack London Square is set to ring in the holiday season with an annual tree lighting ceremony on the Oakland waterfront. Both locals and visitors are invited to be a part of this classic Bay Area tradition featuring holiday fun for the entire family. From Santa's reindeer to the Oakland Ballet's Sugar Plum Fairies, enchanting festivities will fill Jack London Square with an evening of merriment including the Tap Dancing Christmas Trees, a jingle bell dance contest, festive music, merry entertainment from Oakland-based Dance-A-Vision, cookie decorating, ornament making, a Holiday Pop Up featuring 90 local artisans and more. The evening will culminate with the lighting of a 55-ft. Mt. Shasta Fir Tree covered in 5,000 sparkling lights and 600 colorful ornaments!
