The 2008 public Harbor Tour Season starts on Thursday, June 19th and runs through October. Come join us for a FREE, fun harbor tour and enjoy learning about the Port of Oakland. Experience a bird’s eye view of the Port of Oakland’s giant cranes and maritime operations. The Port of Oakland is the third busiest container port on the West Coast. Every year the Port provides an opportunity for local organizations, school children, senior and recreation centers, and the general public to participate in these free narrated harbor tours. Tours showcase the Port’s history, development plans and operations. The approximately one hour (1 hr) tour will take you alongside port operations along the Oakland Estuary. Tours run twice daily at 10:30 am & 1:00 pm, with boarding time 30 minutes prior to departure. Reservations can be made online or by calling the Port of Oakland Harbor Tour Hotline: (510) 627-1188.
